The Secret to All-Day Energy

Fresh flowers, birds chirping and warmer weather: There’s so much to love about spring! All the beauty that comes along with the season may make you want to go hiking, plan a picnic or even start a spring cleaning project.

The only thing standing in your way? Finding the energy to do it all.

If you, (like so many of us!), have noticed a drop in your energy levels the past year — whether from feeling anxious or overwhelmed from the pandemic, or even bored from a lack of usual activity, here are some of our favorite ways to kickstart your energy so you can get the most out of this glorious season.

  • Start your day with a stretch. Whether it’s just bending down and touching your toes, or doing a quick morning yoga flow (we like this one on YouTube), beginning your day with movement is a sure-fire way to jumpstart your energy levels.

  • When in doubt, drink more water. Before you pour another cup o’ Joe, think about sipping some water instead. That’s because dehydration is one of the main reasons our energy levels drop — and sometimes we don’t realize we’re dehydrated until it’s too late. (Hint: If you’re feeling thirsty, you’re already becoming dehydrated.)

  • Go on a lunch break “walk and talk.” Stress can be a major energy zapper, but talking to your best friend can help take away some of that tension. Plan a call during your lunch break, and take a walk while you chat (exercise is another way to boost your energy!).

  • Eat your way to more energy. What you munch on throughout the day can have a big impact on your energy levels. Try and skip sugary treats and refined grains, which spike your blood sugar, then send it crashing. Instead, choose foods like whole grains, nuts, fruit, and veggies for sustained energy.

Most of us are feeling more excited and optimistic about the future compared to a year ago. Take time to work on restoring your energy so you can make the most out of this wonderful season.

Make Time for Your Dreams

Make Time for Your Dreams

What’s one thing you could do that would make this year stand out from the rest and make you feel like you took a big leap in your life?

These days, many of us are so pressed for time that we give ourselves few moments to do what actually excites us. But even if your day feels impossibly stuffed, you can make time for what really matters.

Sounds nice, but how, you may be wondering? I’m so happy you asked!

You Are Enough, Right Now

You Are Enough, Right Now

Some days you may feel like you’re not good enough, or doing enough. You may wish you could snap your fingers and turn into a version of yourself you think you should be with a perfect job, spotless house, and exciting hobbies (or whatever your definition of an ideal life may be).

Imagine rolling out of bed with a smile on your face, laughing throughout your day, and going to bed feeling calm and content?

While not every day will be sunshine and rainbows, there are so many things you can do to add more joy to each day.

Here are seven of my favorite ways:

A Less Stress Summer

A Less Stress Summer

Summer is synonymous with relaxation, but sometimes we find ourselves stressed out and not living our best, “feet in the sand, good book in hand,” season.

Worries happen to all of us. But, one of the easiest ways to feel more carefree is to take a moment to declutter your brain. Because here’s the deal: Our brain can only handle so many thoughts at once. Anything extra bouncing around distracts you from enjoying otherwise happy moments.

Here’s how:
