Our Summer Wish for You

With the Fourth of July holiday weekend approaching (for those of us in the U.S.), it feels like summer is in full swing — and what a difference a year has made!

For many of us, the vaccine rollout means we’re pretty much back to normal and enjoying summer BBQs, beach days, and catching up with friends. And we don’t know about you, but we’re vowing not to take any simple pleasures for granted again.

In fact, our wish for you this summer is to fully embrace the season, and make the most of every sun-filled day and warm, breezy night. Gather safely with friends, cook your favorite summer eats, enjoy a frozen sweet treat, take a dip in a pool, lake, ocean, or stream, and most importantly, take a moment to savor the season and appreciate where you are in life (wherever that may be).

Even though things are ramping up and people are excited to be out and about, we also wish for you to take it easy. We’ve all been through a lot and for most of us, there’s still emotional unpacking to be done. Take as much time as you can to relax and process what you need to.

Keep in mind that you’re in control of how you want your life to be in this new post-vaccine world so be sure to create your own healthy boundaries and honor what feels right for you. You get to decide your new normal.

Curious how the EveryDay Happy Team will be making the most of this summer?

I’ll be working on Season Two of the EveryDay Happy Show podcast (I’m so excited to share it with you!), and also soaking up as much beach time as possible on Kauai. (Join me on Instagram for island pics and book recommendations.) And fingers crossed making a trip to the mainland to visit family and friends.

Sarah will be taking a vacation in Bend, Ore., getting together with friends and family (finally!) and celebrating her son’s first birthday — shoutout to all the other #pandemicbabies!

Leslie will be sticking close to home in Munich, Germany, snuggling her new baby and waiting (not so patiently) for her vaccine.

Karrie just returned from a trip to California, Las Vegas, and the Grand Canyon and will be taking another to McAllen, Texas to see her Mom after 1-1/2 years (yeah!)

What are your summer plans? Tag us on Instagram @EveryDayHappy.Life so we can say hello and see what you’re most grateful for this summer.

Twelve months ago the world looked very different. As you enjoy this new season, take a breath every once in a while to give thanks for all the wonderful things you get to experience and all the people you get to hug now.

Wishing you a safe and spectacular summer!

XO,
Emily and the EveryDay Happy Team

“Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass on a summer day listening to the murmur of water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is hardly a waste of time.” — John Lubbock

Make Time for Your Dreams

Make Time for Your Dreams

What’s one thing you could do that would make this year stand out from the rest and make you feel like you took a big leap in your life?

These days, many of us are so pressed for time that we give ourselves few moments to do what actually excites us. But even if your day feels impossibly stuffed, you can make time for what really matters.

Sounds nice, but how, you may be wondering? I’m so happy you asked!

You Are Enough, Right Now

You Are Enough, Right Now

Some days you may feel like you’re not good enough, or doing enough. You may wish you could snap your fingers and turn into a version of yourself you think you should be with a perfect job, spotless house, and exciting hobbies (or whatever your definition of an ideal life may be).

But here’s something you need to know … You are wonderful, just as you are. You are enough, right now.

7 Ways To Add More Happiness To Your Day

Imagine rolling out of bed with a smile on your face, laughing throughout your day, and going to bed feeling calm and content?

While not every day will be sunshine and rainbows, there are so many things you can do to add more joy to each day.

Here are seven of my favorite ways:

A Less Stress Summer

A Less Stress Summer

Summer is synonymous with relaxation, but sometimes we find ourselves stressed out and not living our best, “feet in the sand, good book in hand,” season.

Worries happen to all of us. But, one of the easiest ways to feel more carefree is to take a moment to declutter your brain. Because here’s the deal: Our brain can only handle so many thoughts at once. Anything extra bouncing around distracts you from enjoying otherwise happy moments.

Here’s how:
