How many times do you catch yourself saying, or thinking, “I can’t do X, Y or Z?”
“I can’t write a proposal.”
“I can’t run a marathon.”
“I can’t meditate.”
The list of can’ts goes on and on making it easy to forget that we actually can do things. We can do hard things even, and do them well.
“Whether you think you can, or you can’t, either way you’re right.” Henry Ford famously said.
Let that sink in.
It’s not uncommon to say (or think!) that you can’t do something just out of habit. But instead of defaulting to “I can’t” what if you pause for a minute and flip the script on your own story?
What if you tell yourself, “Actually, I can.” (Now, if you want to or not that’s up to you!)
Approaching each day with a “can-do” spirit boosts your confidence and sense of self-worth. It empowers you and reminds you that you’re capable of being, doing and having far more than you often realize.
Dive deeper and make a list of your biggest “I can’t” offenders that hold you back.
Is a “can’t” keeping you from regular self-care or realizing a dream? Is it keeping you from doing something you really, truly want to experience?
Take a minute to jot it all down, then tell yourself, “I can.” Because when you believe in yourself, anything is possible. 🙂
Wishing you a happy, “can-do” weekend!
