How to Move Forward When You’re Feeling Stuck

We all have those days where we can barely drag ourselves out of bed. Your alarm rings, and after what seems like 10 hits of the snooze button, you finally pull yourself together and think … “Maybe I should have watched one less episode of Stranger Things last night?!”

But sometimes it’s not just sleep deprivation that makes it hard to show up for our day, it’s the fact that we’re not where we want to be in life. And going to a job we don’t care for, or spending our day in a way we don’t love, is a constant reminder of that.

Not feeling excited about where you are makes appearances in all areas of our lives — whether it’s feeling like you should have more money, a better job, relationship or home.

Though they don’t feel good, these moments in life aren’t necessarily a bad thing. They can motivate us to make big changes and finally step into the person and life we truly desire.

If you’re not exactly thrilled right now with work, love, money — you name it — take a deep breath and know that it’s completely OK.

Then …

1. Get to the root of your restlessness.

What’s keeping you down or making you feel stuck, unsatisfied or restless? Take a moment to truly reflect and write down why you’re feeling what you’re feeling.

You may know exactly the reason, or you may have to dig a little. Either way, this is a crucial first step to changing up your life for the better.

2. Make a list of baby steps.

Once you’re clear on what’s going to make you want to jump out of bed in the morning and be truly excited about your life, you can then start planning the change you want to see.

The best way to start is with baby steps …

If you feel like your job is a dead-end, write down three ways you can find work that’s more rewarding for you. Ready for a change? You could consider hiring a life or career coach to help you get clear on the kind of work you feel passionate about.

If you’re feeling in a rut with your relationship, write down three ways you can spice it up in the months ahead.

Then, take a step, then another, and start creating forward momentum.

Life is a constant progression, and the great thing about the times when we’re feeling unsatisfied, restless or stuck in a rut, is they help us get clear on what we really do want.

Even though it’s not fun to feel anything but awesome about life, use these times to shift your focus to visualize everything you want for your life and start taking baby steps toward those goals.

When you embrace uncertainty, and trust that everything will be OK, you can begin steering your life in the direction you truly want to go. And isn’t that what they call a blessing in disguise?

To everything always working out for you!

XO

Make Time for Your Dreams

Make Time for Your Dreams

What’s one thing you could do that would make this year stand out from the rest and make you feel like you took a big leap in your life?

These days, many of us are so pressed for time that we give ourselves few moments to do what actually excites us. But even if your day feels impossibly stuffed, you can make time for what really matters.

Sounds nice, but how, you may be wondering? I’m so happy you asked!

You Are Enough, Right Now

You Are Enough, Right Now

Some days you may feel like you’re not good enough, or doing enough. You may wish you could snap your fingers and turn into a version of yourself you think you should be with a perfect job, spotless house, and exciting hobbies (or whatever your definition of an ideal life may be).

But here’s something you need to know … You are wonderful, just as you are. You are enough, right now.

7 Ways To Add More Happiness To Your Day

7 Ways To Add More Happiness To Your Day

Imagine rolling out of bed with a smile on your face, laughing throughout your day, and going to bed feeling calm and content?

While not every day will be sunshine and rainbows, there are so many things you can do to add more joy to each day.

Here are seven of my favorite ways:

A Less Stress Summer

A Less Stress Summer

Summer is synonymous with relaxation, but sometimes we find ourselves stressed out and not living our best, “feet in the sand, good book in hand,” season.

Worries happen to all of us. But, one of the easiest ways to feel more carefree is to take a moment to declutter your brain. Because here’s the deal: Our brain can only handle so many thoughts at once. Anything extra bouncing around distracts you from enjoying otherwise happy moments.

Here’s how:
