Go On, Get It Done

Do you have something on your to-do list that as much as you intend to conquer, it just keeps getting moved over from one day or week to the next?

You know, the stuff you really want to get around to, but never seem to find time for — or it just doesn’t sound quite as good as binging your favorite Netflix show?

If this is ringing true for you, we’ve got a little challenge this weekend to get those items off your list. Especially if you, like many of us these days, are hunkered down at home right now.

Take advantage of staying in and put on your productivity hat. It really will feel SO good when you’re done.

Here’s our easy 3-step challenge:

Step 1: Circle the top things that have been on your list forever.

Step 2: Ask yourself why you’re avoiding them and be really honest. It’s easy to say you don’t have time, but we know you’re getting a ton of other stuff done — so time probably isn’t the real reason.

Does it feel overwhelming? Is it something you’re dreading? Are you afraid of moving forward on a big goal or dream? Is there an emotional block keeping you from getting it done?

Step 3: Once you understand what the roadblock is, try one of these ways to move forward:

If the task seems overwhelming … try breaking it up into smaller to-dos. For example, “organize your closet” may be a big task, but “organize your sweaters” is much less daunting.

By breaking it up, you might have more items on your list, but it’ll be easier to get each one done — and to feel accomplished when you do!

If the task is something you’re dreading … promise yourself a reward when you’re done. Having an uncomfortable conversation, doing a gross-but-necessary chore, or dealing with the DMV — we get why you’d want to put them off.

To give yourself some extra motivation, treat yourself to a delicious dessert or a bubble bath once you finish.

If the task is something you feel like you should do, but aren’t motivated … consider crossing it off your list entirely.

Yes, you may have said you wanted to learn Spanish, but if “do Duolingo lessons” never gets crossed off your list, it might be time to give yourself permission to let that goal go. Not only will you free up more space for other things, but you’ll release the guilt you feel every time you put it off for another day.

Life will always have to-dos, but now’s the perfect time to say goodbye — one way or another — to the tasks that have been weighing you down.

Wishing you a productive weekend and take good care of yourself!

XO

Make Time for Your Dreams

Make Time for Your Dreams

What’s one thing you could do that would make this year stand out from the rest and make you feel like you took a big leap in your life?

These days, many of us are so pressed for time that we give ourselves few moments to do what actually excites us. But even if your day feels impossibly stuffed, you can make time for what really matters.

Sounds nice, but how, you may be wondering? I’m so happy you asked!

You Are Enough, Right Now

You Are Enough, Right Now

Some days you may feel like you’re not good enough, or doing enough. You may wish you could snap your fingers and turn into a version of yourself you think you should be with a perfect job, spotless house, and exciting hobbies (or whatever your definition of an ideal life may be).

But here’s something you need to know … You are wonderful, just as you are. You are enough, right now.

7 Ways To Add More Happiness To Your Day

Imagine rolling out of bed with a smile on your face, laughing throughout your day, and going to bed feeling calm and content?

While not every day will be sunshine and rainbows, there are so many things you can do to add more joy to each day.

Here are seven of my favorite ways:

A Less Stress Summer

A Less Stress Summer

Summer is synonymous with relaxation, but sometimes we find ourselves stressed out and not living our best, “feet in the sand, good book in hand,” season.

Worries happen to all of us. But, one of the easiest ways to feel more carefree is to take a moment to declutter your brain. Because here’s the deal: Our brain can only handle so many thoughts at once. Anything extra bouncing around distracts you from enjoying otherwise happy moments.

Here’s how:
