When’s the last time you truly relaxed? Or is the word “relax” not even in your vocabulary?
Despite fewer in-person gatherings and obligations these days, you may still have a lot on your plate and rarely take time to kick up your feet and do a whole lotta nada. You may even feel like it’s been so long since you relaxed, you’ve forgotten how.
Not good.
Relaxing is healthy for your mind, body, and soul — and no matter what’s on your to-do list, you deserve to take regular time to unwind. Not only will you feel more peace and joy, but you’ll reconnect with who you truly are (and say bye-bye to that stressed-out version of you!).
Many of us only know how to unwind when we’re on vacation — and feel guilty relaxing any other time. But you don’t need to book a trip to Tahiti or a day at the spa to get in some good relaxation. You can do it without even leaving your driveway.
Over the next week, take some time to relax, guilt-free. Better yet, challenge yourself to take a half-day (or full-day) to unwind. Not sure what to do? Here are 10 of our favorite ways to relax, restore and recharge:
- Sip your morning coffee in your pj’s.
- Stay in bed until noon.
- Open up a good novel.
- Take a long walk in nature.
- Stretch out on a yoga mat.
- Soak in the tub (BTW, we’re loving these scrubs!).
- Take an afternoon nap sans guilt.
- Feel the sun on your face and listen to something inspiring (ehem, like our EveryDay Happy Show podcast).
- Sip a glass of wine while watching the sunset.
- Stare into a starry sky.
Once you give yourself permission to unwind, you’ll remember how good it feels and how important it is to make relaxing a priority.
Just remember to leave any guilt behind. 🙂
Wishing you an easy and relaxed weekend!
XO,
Emily and the Savvy Team
