You know how good it feels when someone tells you your skin is glowing, how much they love your laugh, or that your hair looks fantastic?
Compliments are priceless and in these times, when things aren’t quite yet back to feeling all sunshine and rainbows, the boost they bring is appreciated more than ever!
We here at Savvy Miss are big fans of compliments because not only do they make the person on the receiving end feel good, but they make us feel good too. Don’t we all enjoy spreading joy?!
We also love how contagious compliments are. When you lift someone’s spirits — chances are, they’ll lift someone else’s soon after. 🙂
These days, we have less physical contact than normal, which can make sharing a compliment feel more challenging (especially if you only see your friends and fam over a fuzzy FaceTime or Zoom).
But giving compliments allows you to see the world in a positive way, so this weekend, set a goal to give out two (or more!) compliments a day. If you notice a neighbor’s roses blooming, let her know how beautiful and happy they look (and take a second to smell them, while you’re at it!). Or if your friend just got a promotion, call her up and tell her how proud you are of her. It’s the little gestures that go a long way … for both of you!
Speaking of compliments, when someone offers you one, too, make sure you take it with a thank you. They wanted you to feel special so there’s no need to brush it off with a “Oh, this old thing!” or “Ugh, you’re too kind — I think my hair looks like I just rolled out of bed!” Own the compliment, and let them know how good it made you feel.
To get the compliment ball rolling, we want you to know we think you’re pretty amazing. We know you have a kind heart and make a positive difference in this world.
Wishing you a wonderful, feel-good weekend! Now go on, get complimenting. 😉

By Friday, are you feeling completely drained? It may be time to introduce matcha into your life! Matcha is a ground powder made from the same leaves used for green tea. But since matcha uses the entire leaf, you end up with more nutrients and caffeine in your cup. Plus, it has a compound, L-theanine, that helps prevent the crash you get with a lot of other caffeinated beverages.
So, with each sip you’ll get an even bigger energizing punch, and all the big health perks from green tea. Some researchers even suggest it could boost your brain power (including memory, attention and reaction time) and reduce stress.
Ready to take a drink? We love matcha collections from The Art of Tea. Their potent powder comes in pretty tins, pouches, or even convenient “matchstick” shaped packets that make enjoying a glass super simple. Happy sipping!
Sometimes sending a card or flowers to cheer up a friend or say “congrats!” just doesn’t feel like enough. What does? Personalized ice cream pints from eCreamery. You choose the flavor (we’re big fans of sea salt caramel brownie over here!) and then personalize the label — even with photos. Being thoughtful never tasted so sweet!
One of the simplest (and safest!) joys during this pandemic has been kicking back and painting our nails … you’d be surprised how meditative it can be! If your polish is in need of a spring update, we love these “power couple” sets from Paintbox. They’re two hues that look amazing when paired together (taking out any of the “does this actually go?” guesswork).
