You know how good it feels when someone tells you your skin is glowing, how much they love your laugh, or how much you mean to them?
Compliments are priceless. Not only do they make the person on the receiving end feel good, but they make us feel good when we see how much something we say can brighten someone’s day.
We also love how contagious compliments are. When you lift someone’s spirits — chances are, they’ll lift someone else’s soon after. 🙂
These days, we have less physical contact than normal, which can make sharing a compliment feel more challenging (especially if you only see your friends and fam over a fuzzy FaceTime or Zoom).
But giving compliments allows you to see the world in a positive way, so this weekend, set a goal to give out two (or more!) compliments a day. If you notice a neighbor’s roses blooming, let her know how beautiful and happy they look (and take a second to smell them, while you’re at it!). Or if your friend just got a promotion, call her up and tell her how proud you are of her. It’s the little gestures that go a long way … for both of you!
Speaking of compliments, when someone offers you one, too, make sure you take it with a thank you. They wanted you to feel special so there’s no need to brush it off with a “Oh, this old thing!” or “Ugh, you’re too kind — I think my hair looks like I just rolled out of bed!” Own the compliment, and let them know how good it made you feel.
To get the compliment ball rolling, we want you to know we think you’re pretty amazing. We know you have a kind heart and make a positive difference in this world.
Wishing you a wonderful, feel-good weekend! Now go on, get complimenting. 😉
XO,
Emily and the Savvy Team
P.S. Share this email with your friend, along with a compliment, to get a head-start on spreading the cheer!
