Dear 2020, Let’s Try This Again

It’s hard to believe we’re halfway through 2020 — what a surreal year it’s been. When the clock struck midnight officially kicking off the New Year, we here at Savvy Miss never could’ve predicted where this year would take us.

Can you relate?

If you’re like us, chances are the year has gone in a direction you never expected, and perhaps too, like many of us, you’ve been taken off course from how you had planned for 2020 to go.

Since life is all about adapting, we thought it’d be a great time for us all to take a minute and check in on how 2020 has treated you thus far, revisit your yearly goals and correct course, or change directions or priorities entirely, if needed.

And also, pledge to make the rest of 2020 — the BEST of 2020!

1. Let’s start with a quick “taking inventory” exercise and ask yourself a few questions:

  • “What, so far, has happened to me in 2020?”
  • “What silver linings can I find in the midst of all of the crazy?”
  • “What have I learned about myself, others, and life this year?”
  • “What am I most proud of myself for doing, being, learning, or understanding this year?”

2. Your 2020 Word

At the end of 2019, we asked you to think about one word to keep in your mind or write out on a Post-it and place it on the fridge, mirror or somewhere you’ll see it daily to help keep you on-purpose.

If you’re like us, your word may need an upgrade. Perhaps one of these words will speak to you and help you like a mantra in 2020:

FAITH, RESILIENCE, ACCEPTANCE, ADAPTABILITY, SELF-LOVE, RELAX, PEACE, EASE, LOVE, EQUANIMITY, BALANCE, INTEGRITY, EMPOWER, SURRENDER.

3. Revisit or Re-Do Your Top Goal for the Year

Chances are your original 2020 goals don’t quite fit anymore — or aren’t a possibility now (hello traveling around the world!). Life may have you now reconsidering your priorities and re-evaluating what’s really important to you.

Whether it’s buying a home in an area you really want to be, being in a happy and healthy relationship (with your current partner or someone new!), or getting a passion project up and running, this is a great time to take a minute and write out your new and improved 2020 goals.

Write them down on a piece of paper and look at it daily. Take action steps weekly. Stay focused and believe in yourself. Good things are in store for you. 🙂

Cheers to making the rest of 2020 — the best of 2020!
XO

Make Time for Your Dreams

Make Time for Your Dreams

What’s one thing you could do that would make this year stand out from the rest and make you feel like you took a big leap in your life?

These days, many of us are so pressed for time that we give ourselves few moments to do what actually excites us. But even if your day feels impossibly stuffed, you can make time for what really matters.

Sounds nice, but how, you may be wondering? I’m so happy you asked!

You Are Enough, Right Now

You Are Enough, Right Now

Some days you may feel like you’re not good enough, or doing enough. You may wish you could snap your fingers and turn into a version of yourself you think you should be with a perfect job, spotless house, and exciting hobbies (or whatever your definition of an ideal life may be).

But here’s something you need to know … You are wonderful, just as you are. You are enough, right now.

7 Ways To Add More Happiness To Your Day

7 Ways To Add More Happiness To Your Day

Imagine rolling out of bed with a smile on your face, laughing throughout your day, and going to bed feeling calm and content?

While not every day will be sunshine and rainbows, there are so many things you can do to add more joy to each day.

Here are seven of my favorite ways:

A Less Stress Summer

A Less Stress Summer

Summer is synonymous with relaxation, but sometimes we find ourselves stressed out and not living our best, “feet in the sand, good book in hand,” season.

Worries happen to all of us. But, one of the easiest ways to feel more carefree is to take a moment to declutter your brain. Because here’s the deal: Our brain can only handle so many thoughts at once. Anything extra bouncing around distracts you from enjoying otherwise happy moments.

Here’s how:
