7 Ways To Add More Happiness To Your Day

Imagine rolling out of bed with a smile on your face, laughing throughout your day, and going to bed feeling calm and content? While not every day will be sunshine and rainbows, there are so many things you can do to add more joy to each day.

Here are seven of my favorite ways:

1. Start your day with a “morning mantra” and tell yourself something that makes you feel good. Some ideas include: “Today’s going to be a great day.” “I intend to have a wonderful day.” “I am a good person and life loves and supports me.”

Be intentional and be positive.

2. Be grateful from the get-go – While you’re brushing your teeth or making breakfast think of five things you’re truly grateful for. Don’t just say them in your head, feel them in your heart.

3. Make a good breakfast – Add extra in-season fruit to your yogurt or smoothie, or you could even make “overnight oats” the night before, so you have a little treat in the fridge waiting for you. Here’s one of our favorite recipes!

4. Take 5 big yoga breaths (think in through the nose, out through the mouth). Between work and driving kids around, we don’t always have time to meditate, but you can still do your body and mind good by taking a few minutes to breathe. Inhale … exhale … and feel yourself relax.

5. Give someone a compliment. You’ll brighten someone’s day which always makes us feel good too.

6. Give yourself a break. You’re not perfect, but you’re doing the best you can, so try not to be so hard on yourself and make it a point to love yourself more.

7. Choose entertainment, conversations and activities that make you feel good. Turn on an old favorite sitcom like Friends, or Frasier, or pop on an inspirational podcast. Engage in conversations that uplift you and steer clear of people who bring you down.

Life is messy and it won’t ever be perfect. But there are so many things we can choose each day to feel even a tiny bit happier. You just have to prioritize it.

Have a wonderful weekend, friend!

Make Time for Your Dreams

Make Time for Your Dreams

What’s one thing you could do that would make this year stand out from the rest and make you feel like you took a big leap in your life?

These days, many of us are so pressed for time that we give ourselves few moments to do what actually excites us. But even if your day feels impossibly stuffed, you can make time for what really matters.

Sounds nice, but how, you may be wondering? I’m so happy you asked!

You Are Enough, Right Now

You Are Enough, Right Now

Some days you may feel like you’re not good enough, or doing enough. You may wish you could snap your fingers and turn into a version of yourself you think you should be with a perfect job, spotless house, and exciting hobbies (or whatever your definition of an ideal life may be).

But here’s something you need to know … You are wonderful, just as you are. You are enough, right now.

A Less Stress Summer

A Less Stress Summer

Summer is synonymous with relaxation, but sometimes we find ourselves stressed out and not living our best, “feet in the sand, good book in hand,” season.

Worries happen to all of us. But, one of the easiest ways to feel more carefree is to take a moment to declutter your brain. Because here’s the deal: Our brain can only handle so many thoughts at once. Anything extra bouncing around distracts you from enjoying otherwise happy moments.

Here’s how:

How to Seize the Hours in Your Day

How to Seize the Hours in Your Day

Do you ever feel like you just don’t have enough time to do those things you’re truly passionate about? Whether you want to write a book, learn how to play piano or spend time enjoying a good read, chances are your day slips by so fast, there’s little time for things that bring you pure joy. That’s why it’s important we do what we can to protect our time, so that we can do more of what’s truly important, and less of what’s not.

Today, I’m sharing a few of my favorite ways to seize your day so you can use the hours your way!
